It’s not time for real change, just pay more taxes and give up liberties,

You’re the state’s serf, that’s your place,

there’s so much you shouldn’t know.

Buy some junk, stay asleep, watch more mindless TV,

Look at the state, it is powerful and happy.

It is not like you are now, its lawmakers are above you,

They will change the laws, but for you they will not benefit.

But take the time to play their game, vote for someone who will take away everything,

For they will still rule here tomorrow, and on your freedom they will spring.

How can I try to be free? When I do, the state imprisons me.

It’s not always been the same same old story.

There was a time you could protest, but now you just get bludgeoned

If there’s a way, then this isn’t it, we need our freedoms back.

We need our freedoms back.

It’s not time for real change, just keep eating your happy meals all day,

You’re the state’s serf, that’s your place,

They don’t want to educate us.

Don’t think, don’t speak, don’t try to change the system,

Look at the state, it is it is unjust and proud.

All the times that I tried, reclaiming some of my liberties,

It’s hard, but it’s harder when unfair laws are passed.

The Patriot Act, The War on Drugs, bailing out AIG and Goldman Sachs,

If there’s a way, then this isn’t it, and we need our freedoms back.

Let’s end the oppressive state.
