Outgunned Border Patrol Agent Held at Gunpoint by Mexican Military

One Old Vet | August 3, 2008

A Tucson Sector Border Patrol agent was held at gunpoint by the Mexican military last night south of Ajo. While we’re certain that some managers within the DHS and the President of Mexico will find a way to blame the Border Patrol agent, we would like to point out that the agent was in the United States, doing his job. Mexican military personnel crossed over the border and pointed rifles at him. Backup units arrived from the Ajo Border Patrol station, and the Mexican military personnel eventually returned to Mexico.

Once again, they come into our country, point rifles at our agents, and are allowed to return to Mexico as if nothing happened. One can only imagine the outrage if American soldiers or Border Patrol agents entered Mexico and pointed rifles at someone. Unfortunately, this sort of behavior by Mexican military personnel has been going on for years. They are never held accountable, and the United States government will undoubtedly brush this off as another case of “Oh well, they didn’t know they were in the United States.”

US Contractor Leads Torture Training in Mexico

Kristin Bricker | July 7, 2008

Exactly one day after George Bush signed the first year of the $1.6 billion Plan Mexico into law–giving Mexican military and police US training, armament, and resources–videos surfaced showing Mexican police undergoing torture training in León, Guanajuato. The torture training is directed by a British man from an unidentified US private security company.

McCain Is ‘Glad’ To Have Championed Immigration Legislation That He Wouldn’t Support Today

Think Progress | June 27, 2008

In an interview with the Las Vegas Sun released yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) praised himself for sponsoring the McCain-Kennedy immigration reform legislation of 2006, which failed to pass the Senate last year due to conservative opposition:

I haven’t won on every issue. I didn’t win on immigration reform, but I’ll go back at it. And I’m glad I did it.

McCain’s praise for comprehensive reform is a reversal of rhetoric he used when speaking of his own legislation when seeking the GOP nomination. In fact, in a Jan. 30 GOP debate, McCain said he would not vote for his own bill today:

Mexicans urged to reclaim a piece of Texas

Tom Leonard | June 26, 2008

Mexicans are being encouraged to reclaim a piece of Texas, more than 150 years after they lost the Lone Star state to the United States.

Texan estate agents are heading south of the border to drum up the interest in buying cut-price land and property in the foreclosure-hit state.

A Major Victory for Texas

Ron Paul | June 24, 2008

I am pleased to report that last week we received notice that the Texas Department of Transportation will recommend the I-69 Project be developed using existing highway facilities instead of the proposed massive new Trans Texas Corridor/NAFTA Superhighway. According to the Texas Transportation Commissioner, consideration is no longer being given to new corridors and other proposals for a new highway footprint for this project. A major looming threat to property rights and national sovereignty is removed with this encouraging announcement.

Robo Cop On Rails: It’s Not About Illegals, It’s About Keeping You on the Reservation

Kurt Nimmo | June 21, 2008

Noah Shachtman, writing for Wired, tells us the latest police state technological marvel may be used to secure the border. More than likely, it will be used to surveil you and me.

Linceus GmbH is looking to turn miniature monorail cars into camera-equipped sentries, zipping around at nearly 50 miles per hour. And unlike human guards, Defense News’ Barbara Opall-Rome reports, these rail-riding robo-watchers are “impervious to bad weather; operate around the clock; and come equipped with dazzling spotlights, high-decibel acoustics and other nonlethal means of warning the unwitting.” A demonstration at Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion Airport is planned for next week.

Chertoff: “Tightened Security” On Border Reason for Violence

Kurt Nimmo | June 10, 2008

Somebody needs to ask Michael Chertoff what he’s smoking. “Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff on Monday blamed tightened security on the U.S.-Mexico border for increased violence there, and he said the border probably will not be fully secured until 2011, two years after President Bush leaves office,” reports CNS News. “Chertoff added that quelling the violence will require working with the Mexican government – and millions of dollars from American taxpayers if Congress funds the Merida Initiative. The multi-year proposal would give Mexico $500 million and $50 million to Central America in 2008 to fight the drug cartels – another $450 million and $100 million respectively will be given for fiscal year 2009.”

Hillary & Obama In Secret Bilderberg Rendezvous
Campaign spokespeople refuse to disclose location of meeting, but reports admit Democratic candidates convened at “an event in Northern Virginia”

Paul Joseph Watson | June 6, 2008

According to news reports, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton went out of their way to hold their long-awaited private meeting in a very specific location – not at Hillary’s mansion in Washington – but in Northern Virginia, which also just happens to be the scene of the 2008 Bilderberg meeting.

Obama’s spokesman Robert Gibbs told the media that Obama and Clinton held a private meeting last night but he refused to disclose where it taken place, except that it was not at Clinton’s home in Washington, as had been widely reported. Hillary campaign managers also refused to disclose the location of the rendezvous.

White House Has No Information On Hundreds Of Kidnapped, Executed Americans In Mexico

Steve Watson & Paul Watson | June 3, 2008

The White House has declared that it has no information on any ongoing judicial processes concerning hundreds of kidnappings and murders of American citizens by Mexican drug cartels and gangs between 2005 and 2007.

Cybercast News Service specifically asked Press Secretary Dana Perino last Friday for information pertaining to a still operative travel alert issued by the State Department, which warned travelers that violence “equivalent to military small-unit combat” was taking place along the southern U.S. border with Mexico.

Border Agents, Lured by the Other Side

Randal C. Archibold and Andrew Becker | May 27, 2008

The smuggler in the public service announcement sat handcuffed in prison garb, full of bravado and shrugging off the danger of bringing illegal immigrants across the border.

“Sometimes they die in the desert, or the cars crash, or they drown,” he said. “But it’s not my fault.”

The smuggler in the commercial, produced by the Mexican government several years ago, was played by an American named Raul Villarreal, who at the time was a United States Border Patrol agent and a spokesman for the agency here.

Now, federal investigators are asking: Was he really acting?

Hollywood to Create Border Propaganda Show

James Hibberd | May 28, 2008

Editor’s note: Since the border is wide open to illegals and drug smugglers and a growing number of Americans are concerned about this, now is the time for the Department of Homeland Security and Hollywood to create a fluffy propaganda piece to brainwash us into thinking otherwise, sort of like the “war on terror” that does not stop terrorism but rather engenders it for political reasons.

A new ABC unscripted series will take an unprecedented look behind the scenes at the government’s fight against terrorism.

The network has ordered 11 hours of “Border Security USA” from executive producer Arnold Shapiro (”Big Brother”). Shot on location throughout the United States, the series will focus on the efforts of border protection agencies to halt illegal smuggling and immigration.

Some US farms outsourced to Mexico

Jessica Bernstein-Wax | May 27, 2008

IRAPUATO, Mexico (AP) — Antonio Martinez used to pay smugglers thousands of dollars each year to sneak him into the United States to manage farm crews. Now, the work comes to him.

Supervising lettuce pickers in central Mexico, Martinez earns just half of the $1,100 a week he made in the U.S. But the job has its advantages, including working without fear of immigration raids.

Martinez, now a legal employee of U.S.-owned VegPacker de Mexico, is exactly the kind of worker more American farm companies are seeking. Many have moved their fields to Mexico, where they can find qualified people, often with U.S. experience, who can’t be deported.

Lou Dobbs Drops the “NAFTA Superhighway” Ball

Kurt Nimmo |  May 24, 2008

It’s too bad Lou Dobbs didn’t have his notes together when he was confronted recently by Paul Waldman of Media Matters for America, a “progressive,” read Democrat, organization (see video). Waldman described the NAFTA Superhighway a “myth” and challenged Dobbs to provide evidence of its existence. Lou was unable to provide specific evidence, thus lending credence to Waldman’s assertion that the whole thing is a baseless conspiracy theory.

In the eyes of the military, it’s a simple numbers game. But the recruitment process for America’s armed forces is changing, and so is the look, feel, and policy of the military itself.

According to national statistics, felony waivers for recruits have been doubling almost every year for the past several years. Military.com reports:
